The Gébárti Handicrafts House is located on one of the most beautiful surroundings of Zalaegerszeg, besides Lake Gébárti. Its activities include folk art, fine art and public art. The House of Handicrafts was built in 1981-82 by a social unity created by the Zala County Folk Art Association. For 35 years it has served to preserve, develop and transmit the traditions of folk art and craftsmanship in Hungary. The House and the Association operate 8 groups. The activities are carried out in artistic workshops for all ages. In addition to the workshops, the community space is also suitable for couses, smaller conferences and events. Their workshops are: wood carving workshop, smith workshop, potter workshop, fiber-processing workshop. They are proud of the yurt created 20 years ago by the association's membership. Their great events: Pottery and Ceramic Festival, Family Pentecost, "Tök jó" Gébárti Festival, Open Workshop Day - promoting arts and crafts activities at these events.
Their summer camps attract different ages: children, youth and adults. The House and the Association are inseparable partners, complementing each other's activities. The Association implements its 6th cross-border programme with its Croatian partners by the name of CultuRevive Tour, which creates a cross-border handicraft route by linking crafts, natural materials and tourism.
